	Hot off the press :- Scooters India Ltd, have reportidly sold a large stake in its bussiness to Piaggio. Web site :- http://www.scootersindia.com Models Available :- A range of Vikram three wheeled models, SIL no longer produce the two wheeled Lambretta Over View :- SIL's range of GP Lambretta scooters are now deleted, although some spare parts are available from the Indian factory. SIL now soley concentrate on three wheeled transport, their new model the Vikram EV is electric and 100% emission free. According to SIL's web site the facts behind the new model are :- "Vikram EV is driven by DC motor with power input at 72 volts from special deep discharge cycle batteries. It is totally clean and non-polluting vehicle. It has neither engine nor gear box nor radiator nor silencer and thus it is practically a noise-free vehicle and has no cylinder and piston to wear and tear. It does not require any maintenance." The GP model, which up until a few years ago was produced at the Indian SIL factory.
